Season of the Force: Our Favorite Things To Do

Fangirls Going Rogue was invited to Disneyland to experience opening day of Season of the Force at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Here are our favorite things we experienced:

Star Tours
When the purrgils showed up on Star Wars: Ahsoka on Disney+, we said flying with the space whales would be a perfect fit for Star Tours. And now it’s true! Star Tours has received an update with a closing scene accompanying Ahsoka to stop some enemy fighters in the skies of Seatos. You get to zig and zag around a pod of purrgils and even experience an all new maneuver: a barrel roll. The mission briefings have been updated as well with three alternates: the Mandalorian and Grogu, Cassian Andor, or Ahsoka. Rosario Dawson, a huge Star Wars fan, was obviously having fun bringing her Ahsoka flair to Star Tours. Diego Luna’s delivery as Cassian Andor is intense and relays the urgency of protecting the ride’s Rebel Spy. Our favorite was the Mandalorian version for the exceptional use of three-dimensional effects when Grogu releases a frog during the holotransmission.

Fire of the Rising Moon
Like Star Tours incorporating the purrgils, we have talked about wanting to hear John Williams’ epic Star Wars score with Disneyland fireworks while inside Batuu. We technically didn’t get to see the Season of the Force fireworks display in person because of high winds, but we have seen video from the first showing. It is as amazing as we imagined.

Sabine Wren
We love that Disney Parks have been bringing more current characters into Batuu. We know it might mess with continuity timelines, but no one seems to worry too much about all the Marvel characters crossing the streams in Avengers Campus. During Season of the Force, you can see the Mandalorian and Grogu, Boba Fett, Ahsoka Tano, Vi Moradi, Kylo Ren, Rey, Chewbacca, and everyone’s favorite First Order Troopers. Being introduced to Sabine Wren was an honest delight. If you’re lucky, you may find Mando and Boba Fett or Ahsoka and Sabine interacting as well. You can use the Disneyland app to find out when the characters are due to appear. While they move around Black Spire Outpost and the Resistance base, your best shot to see them is one the pathway between Droid Depot and Rise of the Resistance across from Ronto Roasters, as this is where they enter and leave Galaxy’s Edge.

BDX Droids
Ever since Disney Imagineers tested the BDX droids in the park, we have been hoping they would become regulars. Wish granted – at least for Season of the Force. These little droids are amazing. We’re not sure how Disney got those ducklings to participate, but maybe that’s part of the magic of live shows. Anything can happen. Accompanied by trainers, the BDX droids can seen around the Outpost. Check the Disneyland app for times.

Hyperspace Mountain
While the re-skinning of Space Mountain to Hyperspace Mountain isn’t new to Disneyland, it is the best seasonal conversion in the park. (Sorry, Haunted Mansion Nightmare Before Christmas.) Like the Fire of the Rising Moon fireworks, there is something special about John Williams music and joining an X-wing squadron on their mission to stop an Imperial Star Destroyer. The line can get long for this rollercoaster so we suggest Genie+ so you can enjoy more of the Season of the Force magic during your visit to Disneyland.
